Specialty chemicals company Draslovka a.s. will supply sodium cyanide to Barrick Mining's Nevada Gold Mines under a new multi-year contract announced today.

Barrick Mining (US-NYSE:B; TSX:ABX) selected Draslovka to provide the chemical essential for gold extraction at the largest gold mine in the United States. The company will produce the sodium cyanide entirely in the U.S. at its Memphis facility and expand its existing handling terminal in Carlin, Nevada, to support the contract.

The agreement comes as global sodium cyanide supply tightens due to rising gold demand and limited new production capacity. The chemical accounts for only a small percentage of gold miners' recovery costs but remains critical for gold production.

"Our supply agreement with Barrick reflects our ability to deliver safe and reliable supply at scale that meets the highest operational and environmental standards," Pavel Bruzek Jr, CEO of Draslovka, commented.

He added, "The crucial role played by NaCN is often overlooked as it represents only a few percent of a gold miner's recovery costs. However, without it, it is impossible to produce gold. The global NaCN market has been tightening for years due to a lack of new production capacity, which has only become more strained due to unprecedented demand for gold. I am proud that Draslovka is filling the supply gap with our premium product.

"Given our strong presence and heritage, North America continues to be a strategically important market for us. With this contract, we have increased our footprint and will continue to do so to further build out our position."

"We are pleased to partner with Draslovka for the responsible supply of NaCN to Nevada Gold Mines. Draslovka has shown the commitment to safety, quality and security of supply that reflect the standards of Nevada Gold Mines," Jimmy Richards, vice president of commercial and supply chain at Barrick, commented.
