Sandvik will launch its new Ranger DX1010i drill rig at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The trade show takes place until March 7. The company designed the long-feed version to extend the capabilities of its Ranger DXi top hammer rig family for mining operations.
The new rig delivers up to 6.4 metres (21 ft) of single-pass drilling and increases compressor output significantly. Sandvik combines this with what it calls the largest drilling coverage area on the market and enhanced rock tools.
Sandvik has deployed hundreds of Ranger DXi top hammer drill rigs globally across mining and infrastructure projects. The rigs feature a rotating superstructure that provides extended reach and productivity from single setups.
Enhanced drilling capabilities
The DX1010i retains the reach capabilities of previous Ranger DXi models while adding a long-feed system for 6.4-meter single-pass drilling. The expanded drilling coverage area and longer feed reduce setup time and increase continuous drilling capacity.
Sandvik equipped the rig with an innovative long-piston RD930 rock drill and CT55/67 rock tools. The company says these components generate optimized shock waves for higher penetration rates, extended tool life and reduced fuel consumption.
Upgraded power systems
Sandvik upgraded the auxiliary systems to support deeper hole drilling with increased power, air flow and water capacity. The compressor delivers 11 cubic metres per minute (389 cfm) of flushing capacity for deeper hole cleaning.
The water system includes an optional extra tank that increases total capacity to 500 litres, allowing extended drilling periods with water flushing.
Operator features
The rig includes Sandvik's iCab cabin and connectivity for the company's digital technologies. Automation features include improved one-hole automation with collaring automatics and the iClean drilling automation system.
Sandvik will display the rig at Booth SV2457, Silver Lot during CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026.
