Searchlight Resources (TSXV: SCLT) received a two-year drill and surface exploration permit from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment for its Robinson Creek gold project. The property sits about 16 km west of Creighton, Saskatchewan and Flin Flon, Manitoba.
The company plans to conduct surface exploration at Robinson Creek during summer 2026, followed by drilling based on field work results and historical drilling data. The summer program will include prospecting and geological mapping activities, plus assessment of changes to project access and surface exposure caused by the summer 2025 forest fires.
Project covers three distinct gold zones
The Robinson Creek gold project consists of two claims covering 2.9 sq. km, located about 15 km northwest of Searchlight's Bootleg Lake Gold claims. The property represents a structurally controlled mesothermal lode gold system comprising three gold zones - the Vein, Bleiler, and Quartz zones - extending over a strike length of approximately one kilometer along the Mosher Lake Shear zone.
"We are excited to get back into the field at Robinson Creek to verify historical data and follow up structural extensions of known mineralized zones," Stephen Wallace, Searchlight's CEO, stated. "The planned exploration will be the next step to defining a gold deposit at Robinson Creek. Given the current gold prices, the Robinson Creek project is becoming a considerable asset to Searchlight and its shareholders."
Initial exploration target ranges up to three million tonnes
The company has established an initial exploration target ranging from two to three million tonnes with grades between 1.20 g/t and 1.60 g/t gold. Management considers the deposit amenable to open-pit mining methods. The property sits 16 kilometers west of Creighton, Saskatchewan and Flin Flon, Manitoba, and 15 km from Searchlight's Bootleg Lake brownfield mine site.
Historical data shows extensive gold mineralization
Searchlight has compiled 70 historical drill holes totaling 9,618 metres from exploration programs conducted in the 1940s and 1980s. Historical drill holes and geophysical surveys outline a zone of mineralization extending at least 1,000 meters along the Mosher Lake Shear zone. Recent airborne magnetic surveys have outlined additional exploration potential along strike and south of the known zones.
The historical drilling shows strong gold intersections across the property. Sixty drill holes recorded gold intersections greater than 1.0 g/t gold, while 45 gold intersections exceeded 2.0 g/t gold over at least one metre
