VANCOUVER, British Columbia Both the BRITISH COLUMBIA GOVERNMENT and the B.C. & YUKON CHAMBER OF MINES have put money on the table to support exploration in the province.

Last week at the meeting of the B.C. MINING ASSOCIATION, Premier Gordon Campbell announced his government is committing $2.1 million toward increasing mineral exploration in the province.

The money will be spent within the framework of the Rocks to Riches program. This is an initiative of the CANADIAN GOVERNMENT, B.C. government and the B.C. & Yukon Chamber. A grant of $1.168 million will go the Chamber to conduct geoscience surveys. Another $950,000 will go to the Targeted Geoscience Initiative administered by NRCan.

For further information, contact the Rocks to Riches co-chairs, David Caulfield (604-669-6660) or John Thompson (604-687-1117).
