MOLINE, Illinois – With several popular and productive models of its ultra-large hydraulic excavators already working in the mining industry, Hitachi has launched a new model. The EX2600-6 is the heaviest, most powerful model in the line. These improvements were made without significantly increasing the footprint.

The EX2600-6 is loaded with new features. The backhoe bucket is now 17 m3, rather than 15 m3. A shorter reach and higher horsepower boost productivity by shortening the cycle time. The hydraulic pump output has been increased, and the oil cooler has a new type of core row and fin shape.

Inside the cab, LED lighting has been adopted for longer life and less heat generation. An optional interface with computerized mine management systems, including Wenco, is also available. A new exterior walkway gives the maintenance crew easy access to key areas.

All these features are built into the EX2600-6 without sacrificing the tried and true performance that users demand.
