SALT LAKE CITY DORR-OLIVER EIMCO, a subsidiary of Montreal-based GL&V INC., has announced three major filter press sales totaling US$6.5 million. The company says these customers demonstrate confidence in Dorr-Oliver Eimco's automatic filter press (AFP) technology.

Three AFP M1500x108 chamber units have been purchased by TAIYUAN IRON in Shanxi province China to filter iron ore concentrate. This installation will feature the rolling cross head closing system. Each filter will produce 200 tonnes/hour (ds) at less than 9% moisture.

One AFP M1500x77 chamber system is going to ERDENET in Mongolia to filter copper concentrate. The contract includes one additional system in the future. This complete system supply contract includes the rolling cross head, air compressors, filter feed pumps, water pump, and all automatic valves and instruments associated with fully automatic operation. Operating costs will be monitored via the PLC system. Each filter will produce 45 tonnes/hour (ds) at less than 10% moisture.

One AFP M1200x50 chamber unit is destined for ANGLO AMERICAN's Namakwa Sands project in South Africa to filter gypsum. The filter features long stroke cylinders for rapid cake discharge. The gypsum can be quickly and very economically dewatered with Dorr-Oliver Eimco's fast cycling AFP mineral filter.
