COTE D'IVOIRE – Vancouver's Endeavour Mining Corp. says that construction of its Agbaou gold mine 200 km northwest of Abidjan continues on schedule and on budget toward initial production in Q1 2014. Thus far the company has committed approximately 68% of its US$160-million budget to the project, and it is about 57% physically complete.

Here are highlights of the work so far. The carbon-in-leach (CIL) tanks are built and being tested with water. Work on the 15-km overhead electrical transmission line is in progress. The major mill components have been shipped and are expected to arrive on schedule. Only final earthworks and cleanup remain to complete the tailings storage facility and water storage dam. Clearing of the north and south pit areas is underway.

Endeavour also built a new village to house 250 residents. The total relocation cost was US$6 million, including construction of the village, crop compensation, and other items.
