BRITISH COLUMBIA - PRIZE MINING of Vancouver has begun a bulk sampling program at its Atlin gold property in the northwest corner of the province. A 10,000-tonne sample will be mined from the Yellowjacket zone and processed. Prize's timeline calls for mining to be complete late this fall and processing to be finished early in 2007.
The sampling program includes moving Pine Creek, which was a major source of placer gold over the last 100 years. Prize will put a 1.0-km section of the creek back into its original channel on the north side of the valley.
