NEVADA - Vancouver-based IMPERIAL METALS has discovered a higher grade gold zone at its Sterling property near Beatty, about 185 km northwest of Las Vegas. Grab samples from a 9.1-metre stub drift east of the 144 zone averaged 0.27 g/t Au. One sample from a silicified fault breccia assayed 22.1 g/t Au.
These are the highest assays obtained to date from east of the latite dike that is the eastern boundary of the 144 zone. These assays indicate the higher grade mineralization extends east of the dike, says the company.
