ONTARIO - Armistice Resources of Toronto has begun hoisting and stockpiling material from its McGarry gold mine at Virginiatown. The muck is being hoisted from development workings in the 325N zone that has been the focus of work for the last six months. It is to be stockpiled until a custom milling contract is signed.

The ramp that provides access to the 325N zone is being driven toward the 400N zone 60 metres away. The company said some of the best grades and widths were drilled in the 400N zone. In 2009, undiluted indicated resources were approximately 445,000 tonnes averaging 7.88 g/t Au. The inferred portion 156,000 tonnes at 5.83 g/t Au.

Elsewhere in the mine an ore/waste pass has been completed between the 2250 and 2050 levels. The Alimak raise climber will next work on a ventilation and escapeway between the 2250 and 1250 levels. From the 1250 level to surface, a ladderway will be installed in an existing ventilation raise. A new cage-skip combination is on site, and when it is installed, double skipping of ore and waste will be possible.
