ALASKA - ST ANDREW GOLDFIELDS of Oakville (Toronto), Ont., has made the first shipment of gold dor from its Nixon Fork gold mine. Mechanical delays were encountered during the commissioning of the 150-t/d mill, but they have been overcome, and copper concentrate and gold dor are being produced now at planned rates.

The metallurgical circuit is being upgraded with the installation of a cyanide leach circuit that will increase gold recovery and allow the company to retreat tailings from previous operations at the site. Retreatment of tailings is expected to begin in the summer of 2007.

St Andrew says the Nixon Fork mine will produce 40,000 oz of gold in 2007.
