ONTARIO – RICHMONT MINES (55%) of Rouyn-Noranda, Que., and PATRICIA MINING (45%) of Toronto have opened the Island Gold mine in Dubreuilville, near Wawa. The mine and mill could produce 60,000 oz of gold annually for at least four years.
The Island Gold deposit has proven and probable reserves of 1.0 million tonnes grading 8.55 g/t Au (diluted). Measured and indicated resources are 454,705 tonnes at 10.26 g/t Au; and inferred material totals 610,728 tonnes at 9.96 g/t Au.
