HEALTH & SAFETY: Kiena mine accident free and productive

QUEBEC — Wesdome Gold Mines of Val d'Or, QC, notes that its Kiena gold mine has reached not one, but two major milestones.

First, the Kiena team reached 500,000 hours without a lost-time accident on July 21, 2009. There have been no lost-time accidents since the start of commercial production in August 2006.

Second, the mine recently poured its 100,000^th oz of gold since the start of commercial production.
