QUEBEC – Delta, BC-based QUINTO MINING has acquired an option on the iron tailings at the former Lac Jeannine mine, 70 km from Peppler Lake. The mine was operated by QUEBEC CARTIER MINING from 1959 to 1975. The mill continued to treat ore from the Fire Lake mine until 1985.

Quinto is interested in the material as a means for boosting its short-term cash flow with a minimum capital investment. In metallurgical tests of grab samples, the tails were reground and passed through a gravity separation circuit to produce a 64.0% Fe concentrate from material with a head grade of 13.3% Fe.

Quinto has optioned the property from EXPLORATION ESBEC of Sept Iles, Que. The terms are $80,000 upon acceptance plus additional cash payments of $250,000 on each of three anniversary dates. The property consists of both the Lac Jeannine claims, the tailings property and surrounding claims.
