LONGVIEW, TEXAS - Designed for coal, copper, iron ore and other surface mining jobs, the LETOURNEAU 50 Series loaders feature digital controls for greater speed, precision and productivity. The three models currently available cover operating capacities ranging from 38,102 kg to 72,574 kg. The largest, the L-2350 model, includes a 40-m bucket as standard equipment.

On all 50 Series loaders a module-based computer system, called LINCS, combines a master control module inside the cab with multiple remote modules in proximity to the components they control. The remote modules are self-programming and interchangeable to simplify maintenance. A dash-mounted display gives the operator instant feedback on bucket position, net weight, cycle time, cumulative truck load, and total tonnage. LINCS provides built-in diagnostics and can store more than a month's worth of data. It also enables remote monitoring and data downloading when equipped with the optional RF modem.

Beyond digital controls, these loaders offer twin-joystick operation and shift-free independent four-wheel electric drive, designed to improve traction and minimize wheel lip and tire wear.
