MINING PEOPLE: Athabasca Minerals, Continental Precious Minerals, Reliant Gold, and Secova Metals



Don Paulencu is the new chairman of Edmonton-based Athabasca Minerals. He has served as audit partner for several public corporations including Athabasca. Peter Elzinga has resigned his seat on the board due to health reasons.

Continental Precious Minerals of Toronto has named Grant Sawiak, currently a director of the company, to the role of CEO. Former CEO Rana Vig has stepped down. Gordon Ashworth has been appointed to the audit committee to replace Sawiak.

Toronto-based Reliant Gold Corp. has made significant changes to its board and management. Kabir Ahmed, a founder of the company, is now president, CEO, counsel  and secretary. J. Errol Farr has given up his duties as president and CEO but remains chairman and CFO of Reliant. Dr. Trevor Boyd has resigned all his positions with the company to pursue other opportunities.

Secova Metals Corp. of Vancouver has appointed Pierre-Jean Lafleur to its Board of directors and to manage its exploration program at the Duvay gold project in Amos, QC. Morgan Good has taken over the president’s role from Michael Mulberry who remains on the board and is the company’s VP of operations.
