He was a senior VP at Placer Dome from 1995 to 2000 and was responsible for the preparation of the Cerro Casale feasibility study. Placer Dome recently ceded its interest in the Cerro Casale project to Arizona Star and partner Bema Gold.

Former Quebec mines minister (1985-90) and minister of revenue (1990-94) Raymond Savoie has joined the CANADIAN ROYALTIES' board of directors. Now retired from public service, Savoie is a principal in two publicly traded resource companies whose activities include oil & gas and diamond exploration.
