POINTE ST. CHARLES, Quebec The CBC reported today that thieves made off with $2 million-worth of nickel from a depot in this Montreal suburb Tuesday night. A group of armed men entered the building, tied up the employees, and drove away with the nickel in a pair of trucks. A similar theft of aluminum was reported on Monday in Longueuil.
These thefts carry none of the romance associated with a good gold heist, but I am heartened to know that base metals shine brightly for some people.
