BRITISH COLUMBIA The 32nd BRITISH COLUMBIA MINE RECLAMATION SYMPOSIUM will be held at the Best Western Hotel in Kamloops on Sept. 15-18, 2008. The preliminary list of papers includes topics such as mercury and artisanal mining, projects under review in British Columbia, remediating tailings areas, marine habitats, and many case histories.

The cost of the symposium is $265 which includes admission to the presentations, printed proceedings, a reception, mine tour and awards banquet. The tour is of the HIGHLAND VALLEY COPPER mine. The registration form and agenda will be available at the Technical and Research Committee on Reclamation’s website, www.TRCR.bc.ca.

A tailings reclamation workshop will be held at the Highland Valley Copper site on Sept 15. The $300 fee includes transportation, class materials and lunch.
