GUATEMALA CHESBAR RESOURCES has commissioned more studies of the samples from its Sechol laterite nickel-cobalt property in Guatemala. PROCESS RESEARCH ORTECH is conducting a hydrometallurgical study that includes chloride leaching, solution purification and hydroxide precipitation.
The metalllurgical results will be integrated into the scoping study being done by HATCH ASSOCIATES. A nickel-cobalt hydroxide plant with an annual output of 10,000 tonnes Ni is under consideration. Production of a magnesium oxide byproduct may also be possible.
