Stop that project. Don’t expect American companies to ever choose canada over usa. Make it mandatory for Canadian resources to follow national infrastructure goals.

A different product than potash, but I remember taking a shipload of urea out of Van Wharves from Agrium (their name at the time). This was Agrium’s last load of urea from Van Wharves as they were switching over to Neptune. The reason for the switch was Agrium dissatisfaction. As a “goodbye gesture” the dock workers put the spray system water onto the loading urea, so that it clumped in the holds. It is not unreasonable to believe that Agrium had previous disagreements with Van Wharves. Maybe Nutrien (Agrium’s corporate descendent) is deciding to build this new potash terminal in the U.S. because sometimes reliability beats ‘patriotism.’
