Geochem lab opens in northern Ontario

SGS Minerals Services has opened a new, fully equipped, commercial geochemistry laboratory in Cochrane, Ontario. The Cochrane laboratory has been strategically located to service the growing needs of the minerals exploration industry in Northeastern Ontario and Northwestern Quebec, Canada.

The Cochrane laboratory offers the following geochemical procedures:

  • Sample preparation for soils, drillcore and reverse circulation samples.
  • Fire assay for gold with ICP-OES, AAS and gravimetric finish.
  • Carbon and sulphur analysis by LECO and Coulometry.
  • Trace metal analysis by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES)

SGS offers a wide range of services to the minerals sector including geochemical analysis, resource calculations, mineralogy, metallurgy, advanced systems, water treatment and trade services.
