Innovative wireless remote surveillance system

Canadian Mining Journal Staff | December 1, 2003 | 12:00 am

Hoss Equipment Co. and Remote Monitoring Technologies have announced the availability of their jointly-developed SiteWatch camera tower surveillance system. This system enables the control of a global network of thousands of remote site surveillance cameras from the palm of your hand.

The SiteWatch camera tower system delivers network video over a WiFi 802.11b wireless protocol with capabilities that not only allow control of the system at a user’s location from an office PC, laptop computer or handheld PDA, it also provides the ability to transmit that image and control over the Internet to any off-site, password-secured computer. Built for trouble-free operation in remote, rugged and harsh environments, this self-contained system includes an enterprise-grade WLAN with an integrated video Web server and cameras to provide real-time wireless video monitoring and archiving.

A typical installed system consists of up to four cameras and a server and is available in either fixed-mount or portable configurations. The highly scalable and stable video management software easily integrates one four-camera system – or large numbers of four-camera clusters – with existing user networks.
