John Deere engines for underground mining
John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) of Waterloo, Iowa, has introduced two diesel engines–the durable PowerTech 2.4L and 3.0L diesel engines–which both received Mine & Health Safety Administration certification for underground mining use in late 2006. These reliable engines are perfect for personnel carriers, lube centres, utility vehicles, pumps and compressors. They meet manufacturer demand for low-profile engines that fit low-clearance equipment, and JDPS offers a variety of transmission interfaces that meet many customer needs.
The 2.4L engine has four cylinders and a power range of 37-49 kW, while the 3.0L engine has five cylinders and a power range of 56-62 kW. All models have an innovative fuel system for cost-effective and clean design. The company has begun accepting orders for these models for delivery in spring 2007.
