Komatsu Makes PC300 Shovel Better

Canadian Mining Journal Staff | October 1, 2004 | 12:00 am

For increased performance and productivity in tough mining jobs, Komatsu America has made the PC3000 Super Shovel even better.

Improvements include an all-new cab design, easier access during servicing and an updated, more efficient hydraulic system. Operators will enjoy better visibility, less noise and vibrations, and an improved climate control system. All major components can be quickly reached for maintenance via large walk-through gangways, which means a savings in expensive downtime, Komatsu says. The shovel also has a new variable displacement hydraulic pump system with electronic pump management.

Since introducing it in 1998, Komatsu has sold over 50 PC3000s worldwide. The shovel is equipped with a 1,260-hp, 12-cylinder diesel engine. Standard shovel or backhoe bucket capacity is 15 m3. All the features of the PC3000 are listed at www.KomatsuAmerica.com.
