Launch of Global Solutions Group

Canadian Mining Journal Staff | April 1, 2007 | 12:00 am

Geosoft Inc. of Toronto, Ont., has launched a Global Solutions Group (GSG), dedicated to helping mining and exploration companies assure the reliability, availability and security of enterprise resources, including exploration data assets and information technology. John Mertl has been appointed executive director of the group.

Geosoft’s solutions, built on Geosoft DAP and partner acQuire and ESRI technologies, have been successfully deployed in major exploration companies and government agencies around the world. The GSG will build on this foundation, leveraging enterprise technologies and relationships with customers and partners to solve exploration IT challenges.

GSS will focus on eliminating the complexity of exploration IT and delivering scalable, flexible capabilities throughout the exploration workflow. For more information on Geosoft Global Solutions, contact globalsolutions@geosoft.com.

As well, Geosoft has strengthened its relationship with ESRI, the world leader in geographic information systems software, announcing a new collaboration to deliver integrated software and data management solutions for the global mining and geosciences sector. In March, Teck Cominco Ltd. became the first mining company to adopt the collaborative solution.
