New self-retracting lifeline and harness thrown to miners

Canadian Mining Journal Staff | December 1, 2003 | 12:00 am

Proving that size does matter, the new Bacou-Dalloz-designed Miller Black Rhino self-retracting lifeline (SRL), claims to be the smallest and lightest, 9-foot cable lifeline on the market. The company has also redesigned their full-body Miller DuraFlex and Miller DuraFlex Python harnesses with more comfort and safety features.

The SLR features a quick-activating, internal braking mechanism that arrests free-falls within inches. Designed with a cable wirerope lifeline and stainless steel/aluminum components, it is extremely durable. The Black Rhino SRL is available with a variety of anchorage connectors for use in an array of applications.

To continually improve on harness fit and performance, the new line of Miller DuraFlex Ultra Harnesses and Miller DuraFlex Python Ultra Harnesses features new quick-connect buckles on the chest and leg straps, engineered with a dual-tab release mechanism to prevent accidental opening and trouble-free donning.
