New series of mag drive and rotary lobe pumps

Canadian Mining Journal Staff | June 1, 2006 | 12:00 am

Since 1987, Viking Pump has offered the widest range of mag drive gear pumps. The new Viking Mag Drive 855 Series internal gear pumps offer exceptional reliability through their robust, sealless design, which eliminates seal-leakage. They are designed and built to perform in hard-to-seal liquids, 24/7 operations, hazardous or toxic liquid applications and where a requirement is low maintenance. The new Series 855 extends Viking’s mag drive product range to higher pressures, offers reversible flow, and provides improved thrust control and shaft support, which allows short-term run dry capability. Specs include flow rates to 511 L/min, pressures to 1,380 kPa, temperatures from -51C to 260C and direct-driven at motor speeds to 1,750 RPM.

Viking has also introduced the RL series industrial lobe pumps. These stainless steel pumps provide many unique benefits to solve some of the most difficult pumping problems. RL series pumps are designed to pump liquids that challenge other pumps, including liquids that are shear-sensitive, have solids, low lubricity, are hard to seal, require reversible flow, or are highly viscous. They can handle capacities to 3,100 L/min, pressures to 2,760 kPa, viscosities to 2,000,000 SSU and temperatures from -40C to 204C.
