New tier II crawler dozer raises performance, lowers emissions
Dressta North America of Buffalo Grove, Ill., has rolled out the TD-40C tier II crawler dozer, a heavy-duty machine that builds on the legacy of the TD-40C while meeting new, lower U.S. federal emissions standards.
The new TD-40C tier II is Dressta’s most advanced crawl- er dozer. It features the Cummins QSK-19C tier II engine that continues to supply 520 net horsepower, but with reduced emissions. This high-tech engine utilizes full electronic control, dual overhead camshafts, a variable output turbo system, and oil change intervals of up to 500 hours.
Keeping an engine of this size cool during continuous operation is critical. The TD-40C tier II features a multi-unit modular cooling system with a two-speed hydraulic fan that improves cooling efficiency while reducing sound levels. The cooling package includes engine, power train, charge air, fuel, and hydraulic system cooling.
The semi-U blade now has a capacity of 24.3 yd3, and the full-U blade handles 29.8 yd3. Both capacities are industry highs.
