Buddy Doyle is the new executive VP of exploration and a director of Vancouver’s Arctic Star Diamond Corp. Formerly with Kennecott Canada Exploration, he was part of the team that discovered the Diavik mine.

Ashton Mining has named G. Bernard Coulombe to its board of directors. He worked for more than 30 years at the Jeffrey asbestos mine in Quebec, rising to be president and COO from 1992 to 2002. He also sits on the boards of Placer Dome and Niocan.

Toronto’s Banro Corp. has named Peter Cowley its new president and CEO. He brings over 30-years experience, primarily in Africa, to the position.

O.K. (Kim) Goheen is the new VP and CFO of Cameco Corp. He joined the company in 1997, and played a key role in the recent launch of the new publicly-traded company Centerra Gold.

Canadian Arrow Mines has named David Larch its new CEO. He was recruited for his low-cost mining and exploration experience.

Deborah G. Thiel is now VP of corporate development for Cornerstone Capital of Mount Pearl, Nfld. She was a founding director and VP of Mindoro Resources and consulted with many junior companies.

Diamond Fields International has added Jack F. McOuat to its board. He is a founding partner to the world-renowned mining consulting firm Watts, Griffis and McOuat.

Dundee Precious Metals of Toronto has named Laurence Marsland executive VP and COO and Dr. Julian Barnes executive VP exploration.

Vancouver-based Hudson Resources has appointed Bruce Counts as a technical advisor to the company. He has been working with Hudson for the last two years through his consulting company, LithoQuest, and he was involved in the discovery and development of the Ekati diamond mine.

President and CEO of Inmet Mining, Richard Ross, has been elected chair of the Mining Association of Canada. He is an active member of the MAC board and a key member of the MAC Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) governance team.

Dr. Peter J. Guest is the new president and CEO of Vancouver-based Manhattan Minerals. He will also hold a seat on the board of directors.
