AMEC has appointed Dr. Michael Davies to head its Mining Sector for global earth and environmental operations. He will be based in Vancouver.
Vancouver-based Canarc Resource Corp. has added Bruce Bried as president and COO. Garry Biles joins the company as vice-president and manager of the New Polaris gold project.
Century Mining of Blaine, Wash., has hired Bill Dodds as general manager of its Sigma and Lamaque gold mine in Val d’Or, Que.
Cogitore Resources of Toronto has named Dr. Grald Riverin its new CEO. He will retain his duties as president, and Mark Goodman will continue to serve as the company’s executive chairman.
Gordon Thompson has been appointed president and CEO of Toronto’s Crystallex International. He was a Crystallex director from 2000 to 2002.

Now that Vancouver-based Imperial Metals has won the takeover war for bcMetals, it has appointed a transitional board of directors at bcMetals. The board includes Jay Sujir (chairman of bcMetals), Brian Kynoch (president of Imperial) and Pierre Lebel and Larry Moeller (both directors of Imperial). Kynoch also becomes president of bcMetals. The other former members of the bcMetals board have resigned.
