Rugged computer for mining, coal industry
Glacier Computer of Amherst, N.H., has released the GX-1000 series computer for the mining and coal industry. Ideal for harsh environments, the GX-1000 is housed in a very compact enclosure and can be attached to a forklift or function on a fixed-mount location.
The GX-1000 can operate using Windows CE, 2000 or XP systems. It has a 26-cm colour display, rugged touchscreen, 800 MHz Via processor, wireless options and multiple I/O. Because of its small size, the GX-1000 allows forklift operators far greater line-of-sight than competing standard-sized touchscreens.
The GX product line includes 30-cm and 38-cm screen versions as well. Glacier also offers a rugged tablet and laptop for portable challenges. More information is available at www.glaciercomputer.com.
