Slope degree indicators prevent accidents

Canadian Mining Journal Staff | December 1, 2001 | 12:00 am

Improved safety for operators of trucks, tractors, cranes and other equipment will result from the use of the Tiltmeter, a precision instrument now available in Canada from Cascadia Instrumentation Inc. of Maple Ridge, B.C. Mounted in the cab or on the hood, the Tiltmeter indicates, in degrees, exactly how far the vehicle is leaning. With red lines at the danger points, the operator knows when to correct the situation, preventing damage and injury from tipping or a roll-over. A full line of slope indicators designed for outdoor or indoor use is available, with numerous standard models and custom designs. Models are available indicating degrees of slope, grade ratio to one, or percent of slope.
