World’s first field-mountable videographic data recorder

Canadian Mining Journal Staff | September 1, 2006 | 12:00 am

The world’s first-field mountable videographic data recorder is now available from ABB. For use anywhere, anyhow and by anyone, the new SM500F is a four-channel recorder that can be installed in even the most hostile environment. It takes recording out of the control room and offers you localized access to operational data.

A choice of mounting options means the SM500F can be installed in virtually any location, from panel and wall to pipe. Its fully sealed IP66 and NEMA 4X enclosure provides full protection against water and dust ingress, so the SM500F is ideal for hose-down and dirty applications. The result? You can rule out the costs associated with building a separate enclosure.
