SOUTH MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin - BUCYRUS INTERNATIONAL has been recognized by INDUSTRY WEEK magazine as one of the Top 50 Best Public Manufacturing Companies. The 2008 list includes 12 petroleum and coal products manufacturers, 10 computer and electronics makers, and nine companies from the primary metals segment.
IndustryWeek measures six criteria to create its 50 Best list. The benchmarks are profit margin, revenue growth for the past three years, return on equity, asset turnover, inventory turnover, and return on assets.
Revenue more than doubled in 2007, said Bucyrus, due in part to acquisitions as well as the booming demand for mineral resources. Nearly 70% of its sales last year were shipped to locations outside North America. The company's website is at www.Bucyrus.com.
