BATHURST, New Brunswick NORANDA reports that its unionized employees at the Brunswick zinc-lead mine have voted 77% in favour of a new three-year collective agreement. The new contract includes an average wage increase of 9.6% over its life. Benefits and pension programs were also included.
About 725 members of the United Steelworkers of America, local 5383, work at the mine. The union maintains its bilingual web site at USWA.
