LABRADOR CITY, Newfoundland - In the middle of June, IRON ORE COMPANY OF CANADA (IOC) donated 71 ha of land for a residential housing development project in this city. This contribution comes at a time when the Town of Labrador City is experiencing a shortage of residential units, with significant growth forecasted over the next five years.

In a symbolic gesture, members of one family, representing three generations of Labrador City residents and IOC workers, unveiled a sign bearing the logo New Generations, New Horizons. Mayor Graham Letto reminded all guests that growth is not without challenges. On behalf of city council, he thanked IOC for this generous donation of land and its continued support as a valued corporate citizen, committed to the sustainability of Labrador City.
