ONTARIO — Toronto-based Noront Resources continues to drill its Blackbird deposits in the Ring of Fire, and core samples are returning assays as high as 41.58% Cr2O3 over 21.5 metres from hole 1G130. That hole has a Cr:Fe ratio of 2.13:1 within 30 metres of the surface. Hole 1G104 returned 25.1 metres averaging 36.82% Cr2O3, with a Cr:Fe ratio of 2.02:1.

Noront's program of delineation drilling is nearing completion, and a 43-101 resource estimate for Blackbird is in the works. The indicated and inferred numbers should be available by the end of this year.

The company has reassigned one drill to test for nickel potential in the vicinity of its Eagle One claims. Testing PGE potential is also underway.

Noront's projects in the James Bay lowlands include the two Blackbird chromite deposits, the two Eagle nickel-copper-PGE deposits and the AT-12 nickel-copper-iron sulphide anomaly. Additional details are posted at www.NorontResources.com.
