BRITISH COLUMBIA Three coal producers in the northern town of Tumbler Ridge have agreed to consolidate their operations. HILLSBOROUGH RESOURCES, NEMI NORTHERN ENERGY & MINING (both of Vancouver) and ANGLO COAL CANADA (a subsidiary of South Africa's ANGLO AMERICAN) have agreed to form a new company to oversee the mines.

Several properties are involved. NEMI has started mining at the Trend small mine, and when it expands to the Trend full mine it will have a production capacity of 1.5 million to 2.0 million tonnes/year. NEMI is also involved in a joint venture with WESTERN CANADIAN COAL covering the Belcourt and Saxon properties. Hillsborough is preparing a feasibility study for the Horizon mine, one of 11 properties it holds. Anglo Coal Canada has assumed responsibility for exploration and development of Hillsborough's Murray River group. Anglo Coal will also be the operator of the new company when it is formed.

Details of the northeastern B.C. coal agreement are available at www.Nemi-Energy.com and at www.HillsboroughResources.com.
