BRITISH COLUMBIA - Oct. 6, 2006, was the official opening of Vancouver-based WESTERN CANADIAN COAL's Wolverine mine near Tumbler Ridge. The Hon. Bill Bennett, BC's Minister of State for Mining, presided at the ceremony.

The state-of-the-art preparation plant and facilities at Wolverine are the first
of their kind to be built in Canada in more than 20 years, according to Western. The company has permits to produce 2.4 million tonnes/year, although the wash plant can treat 3.0 million t.
