BRITISH COLUMBIA - HILLSBOROUGH RESOURCES of Vancouver has given resource numbers for two of its coal deposits at the Five Cabin property located in the northeast part of the province. The latest report puts a total of 45.58 million tonnes of bituminous coal in the measured and indicated categories. Inferred resources contain another 8.18 million tonnes. The report covered both the Barbour and Horizon blocks.

Hillsborough is proceeding with the feasibility study for the Horizon mine based on an open pit with a yearly output of as much as 1.6 million tonnes of coking coal. The company says baseline environmental studies are largely complete, and that it expects to apply for a project certificate by July 2006. The mine permit for bulk sampling has been received, and Hillsborough is planning a test mine and mobile wash plant later this year.
