OTTAWA - The Royal Canadian Mint has added a new pure gold coin to its growing family of industry-leading bullion products, the one-ounce, 99.999% pure gold bullion coin issued in celebration of the fifth anniversary of the Mint's 100-kg gold "Million Dollar Coin". This highly anticipated new coin was unveiled on Aug. 9, 2012, at the American Numismatic Association's World's Fair of Money in Philadelphia, PA, before a premier gathering of bullion dealers and distributors, precious metal investors, world mints and coin collectors.

The 2012-dated coin is to be produced on demand with the same design by senior Mint Engraver Stan Witten found on the original Million Dollar Coin. It is the fifth issue in an exclusive line of 99.999% pure, one-ounce gold bullion coins first introduced by the Mint in 2007. The Mint's famed 100-kg 99.999% pure Gold Maple Leaf bullion coin with a $1-million, hailed in 2007 as the world's largest gold coin and still unrivaled for its purity.

The Mint has also issued the fifth in its series of Silver Wildlife bullion coins, featuring the pronghorn antelope. See it at Mint.ca.
