GREENLAND Vancouver's TRUE NORTH GEMS continues to find gem-quality rubies at its Aappaluttoq (Big Red) project near Fiskenaesset. The latest news includes the finding of 1,220 ct of coarse gem-grade rubies and pink sapphires. The company is pleased at the large percentage of gem-grade stones and the high percentage of gem crystals greater than 8-mm in size.

The latest find is in addition to the 200-ct ruby found at the site earlier this month. True North has commissioned Tom McPhee, whose work is highly sought after for private collections, to carve the stone.
