KAMLOOPS, British Columbia - DRC RESOURCES reports that infill drilling at its Afton copper project has increased confidence in an updated resource evaluation and prompted the company to commission a pre-feasibility report. BEHRE DOLBEAR & CO. will study the mineral resources, mining methods, mineral processing, permitting, plus capital and operating costs.
To date the copper-gold mineralization has been traced over a strike length of 1,000 m, remaining open on the northeast and southwest. DRC estimates the Main zone contains an indicated resources of 34.3 million tonnes grading 1.55% Cu, 1.14 g/t Au, 0.125 g/t Pd, and 2.71 g/t Ag. The Northeast Extension zone has been explored as well and contains another indicated resource of about 1.1 million tonnes at 1.02% Cu and 0.86 g/t Au.
The Afton open pit mine produced copper from 1978 to 1987. At one time there was a copper smelter on the site. More information about DRC and its plans may be found at www.drcresources.com.
