TORONTO - The WOMEN IN MINING (WIM) network in Toronto is working hard to gather the resources of the mining industry, and aim them directly at the fight against breast cancer. A team of eight WIM members is walking in the 60-km, two-day Weekend to End Breast Cancer in Toronto walk on Sept. 7-9, benefiting the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation for breast cancer research, treatment and care.

Aiming to be the largest fund-raiser in the walk, the team has set a goal of $200,000 of donations, and is already over halfway there. It has raised over $86,000 (and is in third place), with another $32,750 in firm commitments. They need your help in an industry-wide, national effort to make it the rest of the way.

Help them show the public that mining people care. In return, the team promises to deliver a very positive message about our industry. You can read about team members and corporate sponsors, and follow its progress at http://www.endcancer.ca/site/TR?pg=team&fr_id=1202&team_id=36996&JServSessionIdr006=gvrdgyo0q2.app26b.

All cheques need to be mailed in by AUGUST 17 with a completed donation form (available at http://www.endcancer.ca/site/TR/?pg=personal&JServSessionIdr005=b3r4h2wzg1.app28b&fr_id=1202&px=1207219) to be counted toward this years goal; online donations can be made as late as SEPTEMBER 6.
