NEW BRUNSWICK — Blue Note Caribou, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Montreal's Blue Note Mining has filed for creditor protection under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement act (CCAA). Blue Note Caribou operated the Caribou underground mine and mill and the Restigouche open pit 50 km west of Bathurst until they were placed on temporary care and maintenance in October 2008.
Blue Note's exploration properties, including its Williams Brook gold exploration project, are not affected by this action as they are not held by Caribou.
