OTTAWA – Last June the Office of the Extractive Sector Corporate Social Responsibility Counsellor launched a series of discussion notes on the subject. The series highlights research and global good practice in the CSR field, including dispute resolution between companies and communities and raising awareness of performance guidelines.

The office has now made available the second discussion note that introduces a recent series of videos produced by the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative at Harvard University. Three real life case studies of corporate-community conflict are presented. The videos show how mediated dialogue can deliver positive results.

Both discussion notes are available at international.gc.ca/csr_counsellor-conseiller_rse/discussion-note-series-serie-de-notes-de-discussion.aspx?view=d.
