TORONTO - Set aside the evening of Sept. 6, 2007, for what promises to be a thorough debate. The Toronto Branch of the CANADIAN INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS (CIIA) and McMILLAN BINCH MENDELSOHN are arranging the event to examine "Canada's reputation abroad: the role, impact and responsibilities of the Canadian mining industry."

Debating the topic will be John Knubley (associate deputy minister, NRCan), Kelvin Dushnisky (senior VP corporate affairs, Barrick Gold), Dr. Marketa Evans (executive director, Munk Centre for International Studies, University of Toronto), Dr. Tony Andrews, executive director, Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada).

The debate is to be held at the McMillan Binch Mendelsohn offices, Brookfield Place, 171 Bay Street, Suite 4400 beginning at 5:45 on Sept. 6. Tickets are $10 for CIIA members and $25 for non-members.
