NEW LISKEARD, Ont. The results are coming in from SUDBURY CONTACT MINES' Timiskaming project 20 km west of here. They indicated a 68% increase in the number of diamonds recovered from what was reported late last January. The company is particularly encouraged by the recovery of larger macrodiamonds.
Two HQ drill rigs are working on the project. One is sampling airborne magnetic anomalies; the second is delineating the 95-2, 96-1 and MR-6 kimberlites. This drilling program is to be complete in April. Sudbury Contact will then drill airborne magnetic anomalies in Quebec until the early summer.
