SASKATCHEWAN - SHORE GOLD has received the final results of bulk sampling at its Star kimberlite project in the Fort a la Corne. The four largest diamonds weighed 12.19, 8.50, 6.18 and 5.73 ct.
The final 14 kimberlite batches yielded a total of 3,823 commercial-sized diamonds, collectively weighing 543.86 carats, recovered from the treatment of 3,288.23 dry tonnes of kimberlite. Eighty-three diamonds greater than one carat were recovered. In addition, 390 diamonds (6.11 carats) were recovered down to 0.85-mm-square mesh. The colour of 57% of these diamonds has been classified as white, with a further 14% classified as off-white.
The bulk sampling program recovered 95 batches of material using a shaft and lateral drifts. Shore Gold plans to proceed with a prefeasibility study, which will be announced shortly. For further information, contact VP of corporate development George Sanders in Saskatoon at 306-664-2202.
